In the constellation of the Lizard, towards the end of the great nebula emission Sh2-126, there is the nebula Lbn437 also known as Gecko Nebula for its shape that recalls that of the harmless animal brings good luck.
The Geco nebula is part of the dark nebulae and consists of a set of visible parts in the carbon monoxide (CO) band that stand out against the glow of the ionized hydrogen (H II) of the large reflection nebula Sh2-126 (the two red bands in the image). I
t is believed to be about 1200 light years from our solar system.
Nikon D750 mod. – Takahashi Fsq 106/530 EDX IV 140 lights of 600", dark, bias and flat. Date of acquisition between July 16, 2023 and August 20, 2023 in different locations in the Tuscan Maremma with an estimated sqm of 21.3 mag/arcsec^2 around.In those days the hot temperature (up to 40ºC during the day) made the reflex sensor suffer a lot.
